Biotechnology: Biomedical
The Biomedical pathway introduces students to the science of human health and disease through hands-on learning and real-world applications. Students explore how the body functions, how illnesses and disorders develop, and how medical and scientific professionals work to diagnose, treat, and prevent disease.
Instruction focuses on human body systems, medical terminology, laboratory skills, data analysis, and ethical practices in biomedical science. Students build critical thinking and problem-solving skills while gaining exposure to laboratory procedures and research-based learning.
This pathway supports preparation for careers in healthcare, biotechnology, and medical research and provides a strong foundation for college programs in biomedical science, life sciences, or health-related fields. Students may also have opportunities to prepare for laboratory safety or biomedical-related certifications that support future academic and career success.
