Child Development: Preschool Lab
The Child Development: Preschool Lab pathway provides students with hands-on experience working directly with young children in a supervised preschool classroom setting. Students apply child development theory in real-world environments while supporting early learning, social development, and daily classroom routines.
Instruction focuses on planning and leading age-appropriate activities, promoting positive behavior, ensuring health and safety, and supporting children’s emotional and developmental needs. Students also learn professionalism, responsibility, and effective communication while working alongside educators and caregivers.
This pathway supports preparation for careers in early childhood education and childcare and provides valuable experience for students pursuing college programs in child development, education, or related fields. Students may also have opportunities to prepare for early childhood education or child development credentials.
