Patient Care: Nursing Asssistant
The Nursing Assistant pathway prepares students to provide direct, hands-on care to patients in long-term care, assisted living, and healthcare support environments. Students focus on supporting patients’ daily needs while learning how to work closely with nurses and healthcare teams to promote comfort, safety, and overall well-being.
Instruction emphasizes patient mobility, personal care, infection prevention, basic clinical support, and effective communication with patients and families. Students also learn the importance of compassion, ethical responsibility, and professionalism when caring for individuals who may require ongoing or long-term assistance.
This pathway supports preparation for entry-level patient care roles and continued education in nursing or healthcare services. Students may also have opportunities to prepare for nurse assistant, CPR, or first aid certifications that strengthen career readiness in caregiving and healthcare fields.
