Patient Care: Sports Medicine
The Sports Medicine pathway introduces students to the prevention, assessment, and treatment of athletic and physical activity–related injuries. Students learn how the human body moves, how injuries occur, and how healthcare professionals support athletes and active individuals in both clinical and field settings.
Instruction focuses on anatomy, injury prevention, basic rehabilitation techniques, and sports-related healthcare practices. Students gain an understanding of professional standards, safety protocols, and teamwork within sports medicine and athletic training environments.
This pathway prepares students for continued education in sports medicine, kinesiology, physical therapy, athletic training, or other health science–related fields, and may support preparation for healthcare or first aid–related certifications.
